Building Alfa-Mar’s Future Together

Dear friends and neighbors,

As 2025 draws to a close, Alfa-Mar continues to evolve — through the growth of new or reformed homes, diversity of owners, and connections between neighbors. During this evolution, our commitment to collaboration and care continues to guide our work.

Progress through collaboration and community spirit

Over the past 4 years, Alfa-Mar has taken steady albeit slow steps toward renewal and improvement. With new families joining the urbanization and developing new homes, and long-time residents refreshing and renovating their properties, our community is experiencing a natural and positive transformation.

Our maintenance team, led by Franci Bueno, keeps everyday life running smoothly in the urbanization — from fixing leaks and repairing equipment breakdowns, to routine maintenance and caring for the swimming pool, tennis court and garden areas. Eight volunteer members of the Community Board “Comisión Delegada” continue to dedicate their time and knowledge for the benefit of all. Together, we continue to lay the groundwork for a sustainable, modern Alfa-Mar that will serve generations to come.

This spirit of collaboration shines through in several articles in this edition of El Nexo.

  • In Neighbor Collaborations – What a Difference a Tree Makes!, we can see how neighbors like Olivier and Laetitia (Nº 41) work together to improve our shared spaces.
  • Meanwhile, Inés Dionisio (Nº 51B) introduces an exciting proposal in Connecting Alfa-Mar’s Younger Generation — a WhatsApp group to help young residents build friendships and strengthen community bonds.
  • Our diversity is beautifully explored in Stories, Spirits and Brushes – Myths That Unite Us Across Cultures by Louise Yourstone Tegborg, reminding us that our differences enrich us rather than divide us. Thank you, Louise!
  • And in Enjoying Living at Urbanización Alfa-Mar – House Rules Reminder, Daisy Corremans offers practical guidance on respecting our shared environment and following the House Rules that keep our community harmonious.
  • Our 50th Anniversary celebration in 2024 and the fourth consecutive summer party in 2025 showed the vitality and warmth that define Alfa-Mar.

As reflected in these articles, many residents have been taking active steps — large and small — to build Alfa-Mar’s future together. They want to make our urbanization more welcoming, greener, more vibrant, and more connected.

Looking Ahead

Looking ahead, we remain committed to not only repairing and maintaining our infrastructure, but to modernizing and strengthening it, in order to continue to enhance Alfa-Mar’s stature as a sought after location on the Costa Tropical. By working together — with respect, optimism, and a strong sense of shared responsibility — we will ensure that our community continues to thrive for many years to come.

Thank you for being part of Alfa-Mar’s journey. Together, we are building something truly meaningful and protecting our shared investment.

With all best wishes,

Gavin
